Roundin' Up Christmas

Another Christmas has come and gone and it was an amazing Christmas at that! Just being able to spend quality time with family and my boyfriend Jeff made all the hustle and bustle of holiday shopping (while on plenty of pain medication for my mouth) worth while. I can not believe Jeff and I have been together for two Christmas's already. Wow, time does fly when you're having fun. I feel like I haven't posted something for a while so I have some things to catch up on. Here are some pictures to help with that.

The day I got my wisdom teeth out going to sauce to get some mac n' cheese.
Keep in mind I was still numb..

The next day at the car wash before church.
Jeff making fun of me :(

My mom and I going to tea. It's our tradition.

Jeff, Jenna, and I at Zoo Lights. We finally went!

Don't mind me I just woke up. Christmas with the fam and my absolutely amazing boyfriend Jeff. Pictures of my fabulous presents from him soon. Yay!

I hope everyone had the best day ever and remembered the reason we celebrate this holiday.

Wisdom Teeth

So today I had to get my wisdom teeth out and surprisingly it went great! I am so thankful for everyone that brought me yummies today and I even was able to each mac n' cheese at Sauce tonight! I'm so proud of myself. Well finals are finally over and that means winter break! Yay! I'm so unbelievably happy to be done with this semester and move on to some new classes. Now that school has ended my job ends until MPS starts back up with means save save save:) My favorite thing to do of course! I'm so excited for next semester at work and at classes. I may even try to find another part time job to keep my life busy and so that I will have work in the summer since I don't teach during summer break. So any of you who have any ideas you know how to reach me:)
I'm off to bed and ready to start an amazing break&hearts'

{cute right?!}

P.S. I changed my page! I loveee it:)

Lip Stick Love

When I think about lip stick I think about all my years of dance performances and my recent years on pom. Applying the "Ruby Rue" MAC lip stick before every competition was a must. However, who wants to look like they are stepping off the stage every time they apply lip stick? Here is a smart way lip stick can be worn as an every day look or maybe even for a night out! I was recently buying some new make-up when I came across Rimmel's new line of lip sticks called Moisture Renew. I always hated how crack-y my lips would look if they were a little dry before applying the lip stick. Have no fear! Rimmels lip stick is perfect for moisturizing dry lips and did I mention how many colors it comes in? I chose three when I went. I picked "Pink Chic", "Summer Angel" and finally "Berry Queen". So here is the trick to make wearing lip stick look less costume-y. All you have to do is have a neutral eye and light blush/bronzer. This way your lipstick won't look so harsh. Also when you are trying to get the classic red lip, try to go for a slightly blue-red instead of an orangey-red. Orangey-red is very hard to match to any skin tone. Try wearing this for a night out! It adds a fun touch to any outfit and you can't get much classier then red lips! For an everyday look try the "Pink Chic" or "Summer Angel" colors that I bought. "Pink Chic" is more of a light pink while "Summer Angel" is a shimmery nude brown. Don't let putting color on your lips scare you! And have fun looking classy and chic!

Did Someone Say Sushi?!

Tonight Jeff and I went to RA for happy hour. I always like to try new rolls and boy did I find one! Its called the "RA'cking" Crispy Shrimp Roll. IT. WAS. AMAZING. The inside is kani crab with cream cheese, lightly tempura battered and topped with a crispy, crunchy shrimp atop a spoonful of avocado/guacamole. Oh and I can't forget the creamy ginger sauce drizzled on top. Um YUMM? Sadly since this roll is so new, there are no pictures of it that I could find :( But seriously amazing like almost on the same level as the Vegas Roll. For people who know me that is saying something. CHECK. IT. OUT. Okay my rant is done.

Bringing The Salon Home

Tonight I went by Walmart to get some nail stuff for finally give myself a mani, and then I found something that will change my life forever! Okay so maybe I won't go that far, but I found Nailene Acrylic Nail Kit for do it yourself acrylic nail tips at home! Anddd the best part was, that it was only $7. So I decided to give it a try. It worked soooo well. The only thing I recommend is to apply tips and powder in a well ventilated area. It was a real life salon (with smell) in my room, and still is. But its so worth it! I am normally not super into acrylic nails anymore but now that I don't have to pay $$ for them I feel a little bit better:) I decided to cut the tips short and lastly applied a sheer french pink polish ($1.50) on top as well as a quick dry top coat.

Coming To An End

Thanksgiving break has almost come to an end. I can't believe how this year has flown by already! With Christmas decorations going up today it's bound to feel warm and cozy! ( I'll put pictures of my room all Christmas-y later). Here was the break down of my weekend + Wednesday.

Wednesday: 1 AND A HALF YEARS! I can't believe I have been with Jeffrey that long. I guess time flies when your having fun right? Well I couldn't ask for a better boyfriend and best friend in the whole entire world. He is so patient and I admire that. We definitely balance each other out and I believe we are perfect for each other:) I wanted to do something special for him so I went to Michael's and picked up some leather bands and well kind of went a little craft crazy, but that will be for another post! All I did was take a dark brown strip of leather and attach a snap to the end and for a little added decoration, I put a little diamond stud right by the end of the bracelet. He loved it!

Thursday: I went to my Grandmas to eat the big turkey dinner, and then Jeff and I made our way over to his house for his Thanksgiving dinner. After we went out to the desert with Jake and Kylie and had a bon fire. Which, looking at our past fires we have had there, was perfect! The cold weather was finally here, so QT hot chocolate came in perfectly (along with some candy shhh..).

Friday: BLACK FRIDAY SHOPPING! I have never been much of a black Friday shopper only because of the crowds of people that tend to annoy me. But I will admit, black Friday is like a shoppers paradise. Loads of sales to sort through is worth it when you end up finding a jewel. Here is what I purchased.

Cowboy boots: Last Chance - $39.99

Louis Vuitton clutch: Name Brand - $5.00

jeweled clutch: Name Brand - $7.50

peacock feather earrings: Name Brand - $4.99

leopard heart studs: Name Brand - $4.99

Love ring: Name Brand - $4.99

jeweled stud: BP Nordstroms - $5.00

bird stud: BP Nordstroms - $10.00

"Jesus" bracelet: Metro Park - 2 for $10.00 (I bought Jeff a metal version of this one)

Then, exhausted by shopping, we went back to his house to watch my favorite show, Criminal Minds. Yes I'm obsessed. For dinner we grabbed Sushi and RA and Jeff left to head up north with Matt to meet Chris at his cabin. I went and caught up with Jenna and Brittney while they were in town and had a blast. Good memories with those two!♥

Saturday: I went to ballet and grabbed my Starbucks after like usual. I have been obsessed with coffee and hot tea lately. Something about drinking it in the winter is so comforting. Then my Mom and I went to see Ballet Etudes The Nutcracker. It was so good! My little cousin played a doll and she was so cute! It really made me miss performing and even pointe! (did I just say that?!..) I went to church then after Jeff, Chris, and Matt got home Rea and I met up with them and all went to The Summer Set concert. It was really good! I have just been getting obsessed with them recently and really wanted to go, then found out they were coming to AZ. Just my luck! I even bought a really cute baseball tee shirt too!

I have been slacking on posting my Examiner posts, but I still have been posting! So if you are interested in reading them Examiner.com then Mesa Shopping Examiner should get you there. But I will try to start linking them to my blog again.

Alyssa
