Wednesday Words Of Wisdom

image via tumblr
“All my life I had been looking for something, and everywhere I turned someone tried to tell me what it was. I accepted their answers too, though they were often in contradiction and even self-contradictory. I was naïve. I was looking for myself and asking everyone except myself questions which I, and only I, could answer. It took me a long time and much painful boomeranging of my expectations to achieve a realization everyone else appears to have been born with: that I am nobody but myself.”
- Ralph Ellison

I feel like we live in a world where people are constantly trying to be better then everyone else, and almost acting as if life is a competition of who has more/bigger and better things then the next person. I believe, especially since Facebook has become so popular, this "issue" has grown. I feel as though you may know someone through their "posts" on Facebook but then meet them/hangout with them in real life and they are a completely different person then who they portray online. I wish everyone could just BE THEMSELVES because no matter who you are, what your favorite band is, style, fashion sense, tattoos, piercings, whether your tan or white as a ghost, what color your hair is, what religion you are, where you work, or how much money you make, being YOU is AMAZING! Nobody in the whole world is YOU. You are unique and that is what makes everyone so different. YES, it is okay to be different. So for this Wednesday Words of Wisdom, BE YOURSELF!

Treat Yourself Without Cheating

This morning I did my usual routine. Wake up, bathroom, turn on Pandora, and get ready. However, after getting ready, comes a very important part of my morning {like most people}, coffee. I have to have it. I am addicted. I normally switch off between making iced coffee and having it hot, and this morning {although it was freezing} I wanted iced. I have the most amazing trick to make your coffee so tasty and even more healthy because you better believe I don't drink my coffee black. I use a Keurig coffee maker and I'm pretty obsessed. You can make tea and hot chocolate in it as well. AMAZING. Okay, so first, I made the teacup serving of coffee. I use 3 packets of Splenda, and here is where the amazing-ness comes into play. Almond milk. Yes, almond milk. It's fabulous and seriously adds the best flavor to your coffee. Not to mention the consistency is similar to cream so it makes your coffee thick and gives it a sinful flavor that really isn't sinful for your body! The best part about using almond milk {for me} is it actually curbed my appetite until after my second class which is wonderful. Now my class doesn't have to hear my stomach's horrendous cries for food. Go try it ASAP! You won't be disappointed.

Weekend Recap

Over the weekend I spent time making jewelry, teaching Zumba, watching baseball, going to my amazing friend's 21st birthday dinner, ballet, date night with my best friend Gillian and baby Roman and enjoying the fabulous weather at the Spring Training Festival. Here are some pictures from the weekend's festivities.

I absolutely love the turquoise rings I picked up at the festival. Turquoise will always be in style in my book.

Head Scarf Tutorial

A tip I would recommend is, try not to make the scarf too tight. It will stay better if it is a tad loose.

Opinions

Image via weheartit
Hi all! I realize I have just started up blogging again and who knows how many people actually read my blog or think it is "cool", but I wanted to ask for anyones input/opinions about something. If you guys have explored my blog you will see that I have begun selling some of the jewelry I make. I have TONS of ideas, seriously, and I am really wanting to open an actual shop online to showcase all of my pieces and allow other people to purchase them. I am leaning toward Etsy just because it is well known, however I recently came in contact with Store Envy, which is pretty much the same thing but you actually have your own page that is "powered by Store Envy". So what it comes down to, is before I make a commitment somewhere I want to do a little research where to set up my little store. Advice would be greatly appreciated:) Thank you's to all who follow me and read Sincerely Truly Scrumptious. XO

Stop To Smell The Flowers

Today I woke up at exactly 7:50 and left my house for school by 8:30 and didn't get home till 11:00pm. Although it was a long day, it was packed full of work and play. After school I met my amazing friend Heather for lunch at Sauce. I missed her so much and am so happy we met up! Hopefully our Tuesday lunch dates will become a regular habit. We are so similar its scary. Love her! After lunch, I headed to teach at one of my elementary schools. My adorable little pom and cheer girls learned how to do a kick-line today. {We won't talk about how I may or may not have pulled my groin... }. Anywho, following teaching I headed back to Scottsdale for Jeff's game. They won! And I was so happy my lovely friend Danielle could meet me at the game. For dinner Jeff and I grabbed Filiburtos {best fast food/authentic mexican food place ever I don't care what people say} and went to bible study. Such a good lesson on prayer taught by Ben. Now I am finally home in bed. Who knew not coming home all day could result so much exhaustion. However what I have learned from always being on the go, is being able to stop and smell the flowers. {not necessarily literally, however, the flowers from Jeff I received a week ago todays till look and smell amazing}. I mean things such as listening to music, enjoying quiet time while driving to your next destination, cherishing the company of a good friend etc. Focusing on the big picture of what has to get done can be overwhelming, don't forget the small things!

Presidents Day Festivities

Started my morning off teaching my 10:30 Zumba class which I look forward to every week. Since the elementary schools had today off I didn't have to teach my pom and cheer class. Hooray for a day off! Today my wonderful boyfriend had a baseball game in Coolidge. Where is Coolidge you might ask? Well it is located in the middle of nowhere, AZ. Seriously. There is really nothing around. I drove with Jeff's mom and sister Stephanie out there and all we could keep saying was "where do these people by groceries?!". Anyways, the game didn't go too well. They lost 8 to 2 but no worries, Jeff didn't pitch! He got a day off to rest his arm, so hopefully tomorrow he will. After we got back my family, Grandpa, and Jeff's family met for dinner at an amazing mexican restaurant, Tia Rosa's. Yum! I hope everyone had a great weekend and start to the week!

Hair Party

Since I am always on the go and {most of the time} never get fully ready {hair, makeup, etc}, I have become more creative with how I wear my hair. Spring and summer are around the corner which means putting our winter accessories back into hibernation until at least November here in Arizona. However, when found this picture on Pinterest, it gave me tons of fun ideas using scarves as a hair accessories. It's chic and a fun way to liven up a boring outfit. Not to mention hide a bad hair day/dirty hair. Definitely going to try some of these.
