Fall Favorites

So I have been on a search for the perfect book bag for school. (Yes, I am aware that school started two weeks ago but hey, at least I found one!) Lately, I have been using my nice bags for school. However, carrying heavy multiple heavy books around wears and tears on pricey bags that cannot be easily replaced! So I went searching and ended up at one of my favorite stores T J Maxx. This gorgeous bag has many pluses. The green color is a change of pace and can refresh any outfit (school colors :)), the fabric inside gives it a charming touch that is unique to other bags, it has to straps which is perfect for a day that your bag isn't as heavy, every one of Franco Sarto's bags come with a matching change purse and umbrella with its own storage pocket at the bottom of the bag( cool right?!), and with all the pockets and compartments it is sure to be durable and an organized bag for school!

$39.99
For a couple weeks now, I have been looking for new shoes for the fall and also just a sassy pair of ankle sandals that doesn't hug my ankle. However, my main search has been for a cute pair of clogs. Now these aren't your 1990's grandma style clogs. They need to have a thick heal and embellishments to shnaze them up! So I ended up going to Ross and found just the thing!

only $20 and easily able to go with any fall outfit

My two pairs of ankle sandals happened to be a surprise. I found both of these on a random rack that wasn't even in my size area. So when searching at a clearance store be sure to search everywhere because sizes and styles may be mixed!

only $13.99

and $8.99

Anyways these things are going to be perfect with leggings, jeans, and a scarf to top it all off!
Well I'm off to bed!

This day has been some what hectic with school, homework, ballet, and family. But when it comes down to it, at the end of the day I am happy for the family I have, the friends I have, the boyfriend I have, the adorable puppy I have and all of my possessions. I am lucky for everything God has given me and for some reason tonight really set that feeling in. Don't get swept away with the stresses of everyday life and forget to thank the Man that give it all to you.

Post Pommie

Today Kylie and I went to watch pom and cheer perform at the triple assembly at Mountain View! Wow, it's so weird that I'm not on pom anymore, it feels like it was just yesterday! I'm actually really happy to have moved on to bigger and better things in my life but I will never forget the memories I made while being on pom. I definitely miss football games, the feeling of winning and knowing you did your best and just the feeling of actually being on a team . Well the homecoming game is coming up and all the old seniors from last year will get to come back and cheer! Uh oh better start remembering those dirt routines!

Well I'm off to bed! Our Prescott plans got canceled but Jeff and I our going to the Southwest Car Show Car Battle! It should be so fun! there is going to be a concert with Baby Bash, Cali Swag District, Mac 10, and YG. So excited!

Fall Want List

As fall is approaching a few staple items are on my want list. As I was reading the new issue of Teen Vogue I spotted an add that caught my eye. Jessica Simpson is putting a higher-end clothing line at Macy's with really cute stuff for the fall. Two of my favorite things are a wool/alpaca fur vest (If anyone knows me well they would know that alpacas are my favorite animal). My second want are her new light brown clogs. They have a diamond embellished belt on the top which adds a unique touch. The pictures aren't out yet except for the ad so check it out in this months issue of Teen Vogue and Cosmo Girl.

The weekend is here! I'm off to bed!

All Out Workout

Tonight I took Zumba and Yoga at Mountainside with one of my best friends Lauren. I hadn't taken any classes there for a while so I thought I'd check them out. Let me tell you, if you are looking for a high intense, fun, energetic, workout Zumba is right for you! I literally had so much fun. It normally is 1 hour but the instructor (Amanda) had to cut it short in order to fill in for another teacher at a different Mountainside. 45 minutes of (no joke) non-stop moving you think would be long and tedious right? Wrong! It went by so fast and even though it was hard, the latin, Enrique Iglesias, and Taio Cruz music kept me pumped up the whole time! Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a good cardio, fat burning workout. Next, I took Yoga. It was a one our class that consisted of stretching, poses, and relaxation. The perfect thing needed after the intense Zumba class. My boyfriend Jeff even took it with us! These are just two of the great classes offered at Mountainside and I recommend them to anyone!

Well I'm off to bed, but the up side is Thursday is like the new friday! Woohoo weekend here I come!

BlueTan Suede Shoes

This is my amazing find at Buckle the other day. I normally don't shop for me at that store but I have been going in there more and more lately because its one of Jeff's favorites! I have a weird obsession with my ankles and particularly about how shoes that have a higher ankle look on me. These are perfect. They are loose around the ankle and actually appear to make legs look skinnier. Loveeee them.

Well off to bed!

First Day of College

Today went sooooo amazing! Having the first class everyday with Jeffrey is definitely a great start to the day! Interpersonal Communications is our first class and I think it is going to be so interesting. It is all about relationships and how people react with each other. And my next class is business. Both of my teachers are so sweet and after having that "break the ice moment" school should be smooth and steady this semester! However, my day somewhat started off a little rocky. I got a call from one of the ladies that received my resume. She wanted me to teach a little princess dance class on Tuesdays but it was right when I had school. So I had to say no:( Oh well, she completely understood and maybe if it is meant to be something will pop up soon!

Well thats all for tonight!

Don't Forget the Simple Things

Looking back on this summer many things have come to light. Everyone is growing up and the main thing I've learned is don't forget about the simple things in life.
Here are some of mine:

1. Spending time with my family when I get home for the night.
2. Smelling lotion I always used to wear.
3. An occasional sonic drive thru run with my boy.
4. Driving around with no where to go.
5. A cupcake.
6. Putting your ipod on shuffle.
7. Having a good talk with your best friend.
8. Sitting down for a real family dinner(at home).
9. Getting into a cold bed with crisp sheets.
10. Reminiscing of old memories with friends.
11. Having a song play that used to be your favorite.
12. Taking a walk.
13. Curl up and open a good book.
14. Look through old pictures
15. A good ol' shopping day
16. Getting all dressed up
17. Watching the sunset.
18. Playing with Millie.
19. Remembering how simple life was back in kindergarten.
20. Realizing that you have the best family and friends in the world.

These are a few of mine that make me happy when I think about them. When you get down next time, think of all the amazing things that are in your life that make you, you.
What are your "simple things"?

Well I'm off to bed!

Gettin' Dolled Up

Today I went to Sephora and the MAC store to pick up some new makeup! I normally just stick with what I normally get but I wanted to branch out a little bit and try some new things!

So even though I went to pick up my Bare Minerals foundation I even changed things up a bit and purchased the MATTE version of my normal foundation. I am excited to use it because it will not only have more coverage but it will also reduce shine and have a smoother look to it.

It happened to be my lucky day, because if you purchased a Bare Minerals foundation you received the Prime Time primer from Bare Vitamins for only $10. I'm obsessed with this primer because it normally isn't too expensive compared to other name brands and it makes your skin feel super smooth and gives your skin a good base for your foundation.

I have been searching for a good nude lipgloss that not only is shinny but also isn't too sheer. I found the perfect two colors by NARS and I'm so excited about it.

Strip Tease ( perfect nude lipgloss)

Turkish Delight ( Kim K's favorite color)
And finally my last purchase of the day, after of course giving me a full on make over, I bought a MAC eyeshadow base in the shade Soft Ochre. By applying this before normal eyeshadow it keeps it on longer and gives a smoother finish, leaving less creases.

Well that is all of my purchases of the day however a new brush kit is on my wish list. Any suggestions for a good quality kit that won't brake the bank?

I'm off to bed!

Honors Reception

Tonight I had my first honors event! It was just an informational meeting also with an introduction of the new honors students for the 2010-2011 school year! This may sound weird but I am actually so ready to go back to school. Everyone at SCC is so friendly and concerned with "your" success.

I have been searching the internet ever since my boyfriend and I tried the Cheesecake Factory's White Chocolate Blueberry Cheesecake. I have finally found a recipe similar to what I think the Cheesecake Factory's recipe would be.

INGREDIENTS

CRUST:
2 cups crushed graham crackers
1 cup slivered almonds
1/2 cup white sugar
1/4 cup clarified butter, melted
2 tablespoons caramel topping
1 bag of small white chocolate chips

FILLING:
1 pound white chocolate, chopped
4 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
3/4 cup white sugar
4 eggs, beaten
2 egg yolks
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

TOPPING:
I can of canned blueberrys
2 teaspoons lemon juice
Directions

1. Preheat oven to 275 degrees F (135 degrees C). Make the crust: In a food processor, blend together the graham cracker crumbs, almonds and sugar until the almonds are ground fine. Pour in the melted butter and caramel while processing, until mixture is combined. Press the mixture onto the bottom, and half way up the side of a 10 inch springform pan. Pour and press white chocolate chips on the top of the crust.

2. Make the filling: In a metal bowl over a pan of barely simmering water, melt the white chocolate, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat and set aside. In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese and 3/4 cup sugar until smooth. Beat in the eggs and the egg yolks, one at a time. Beat in the flour and the vanilla and blend in the melted white chocolate slowly, beating until the filling is well combined. Pour filling into crust.

3. Bake in the middle of preheated oven for 1 hour. Then turn off the heat, and crack the oven door an inch, letting the cheesecake cool in the oven to room temperature. Cover loosely and refrigerate overnight before removing from pan.
Pour canned blueberrys in a bowl and mix lemon juice in. Pour topping on top of cheesecake and serve.

***I made a few adjustments to the recipe such as added the white chocolate chips at the top of the crust/bottem of filling just to make this recipe more similar to the Cheesecake Factorys recipe. The original recipe also had a really complicated topping using fresh blueberrys and cornstarch. So that is why I simplified it just using the canned blueberrys which is simple and just as good!

I'm going to try and make these sometime this weekend!
Well I'm off to bed!

Drab to Fab

Recently I have been searching antique stores for the perfect bookshelf/storage for my sewing machine. I found an adorable cream colored hutch top with a built in light on the top. All of my furniture is white, however my standing jewelry box is black and a wire fashion form that I use to hang scarfs and hats on is black also. So my handy dandy daddy purchased some black spray paint and went to town. We had to sand the top down to make it smooth and we also added some decorative feet at the bottom so it looked more like a bookshelf rather then just a hutch top. The finishing product looks great and I purchased a few nick-knacks for the inside along with a whimsical vintage lamp for the top. Here are a few pictures of the finial product.
