Last Week Of Insanity

I know I haven't talked about Insanity too much on my blog, but now that I only have 3 more days left I feel I should come out and share my feelings. I started the Insanity program 3 days shy of about 2 months (60 days) ago. I told myself I was going to put my mind to it and I really have and do see results. The program was created by Shaun T and he made the incredibly hard workouts fun and really made me want to do them. I recommend this program to anyone that wants to get into shape, get back into shape, or just wants to add this to their workout todo list. This program is definitely not for people who are not motivated to workout. You have to be motivated to not skip any of the workouts even when your feeling tired. I'm not going to lie this was probably one of the hardest things I've ever done and my body is definitely different from 2 months ago when I started. The high intensity cardio, plyometrics, and ab workouts were not easy! After you are done with the program you can send your before and after pictures and before and after measurements in to get your Insanity shirt. Its kind of like a motivator and award once you finish the whole 60 day program. I think I'm a little too excited to get my shirt. :) And the best thing is I have already ordered a new fun workout program to do on Monday after Insanity is over. What is it, you may ask? Hip Hop Abs with Shaun T! So unbelievably excited. I read reviews about this program online and it sounds amazing. Someone said that it is even harder then Zumba! And everyone that knows me, knows that I love Zumba. Hip Hop Abs is a 30 day program but the best part is you don't have to follow it if you don't want to. I will keep you updated about my new work out.

Flashback: Roller Blading

I remember when I was little and being outside riding my bike, riding my Razer scooter, and roller blading was my favorite things to do. Well I'm bringing the 90's back. Roller blading is my new favorite way to exercise. I am not kidding about this. A couple months ago I begged my dad to not throw my roller blades out because I insisted that I would use them again. And what did I do yesterday? I finally used them. After skating down the street for only a couple minutes my booty and legs were already burning and this is not an understatement. Yes I may have gotten weird looks from people driving by, and I may have almost biffed it, but the point is, I had a great time working out, being outside smelling the orange blossoms, and remembering some of my childhood. Definitely a must try!

New Obsession: Used Book Store

Image via weheartit
So Monday on my way home from work I decided to stop by a used book store that I always saw but never actually went into. I am totally in love with it now. I had no idea how cheap books were when you didn't buy them new. Yes, yes I know what your thinking why not just go to the library? They have free books there. Well I am really weird about books and like to keep every book I read. So therefore libraries are out. And I am also not trying to bash Barns and Noble or Borders. I love going to those too. But saving some money sounds pretty good. I ended up buying a VC Andrews book. I have read one of her books before and I have tons of friends that have read them and still read them and think they are amazing! So I bought one in a new series I have never read before. Definitely already a page turner! What books do you like?

A Few Spring Must Haves

I am currently sitting at school with my hour and 45 minute break catching up on Facebook and the blog world. Lets just say getting back to school after a long short break is tough. Just the other day I said "my mind is checked out of school" the sad thing is, I still have almost two months of school left. Nooooo. On the bright side, with the exception of yesterday, the weather is sunny and getting warmer durning the day which means getting to relax and layout by the pool. One step closer to summer. My break was amazing seeing friends that came into town, going to Jeff's baseball games and just getting to hang out and not worry about work or school. I only have 6 more weeks of work left until this last session of teaching ends, I can't believe it. This year has flown by. Here are a few of my spring and summer must haves.

Spring Break To Do List

Image via weheartit

This is officially my first "real" Spring Break ever. No more pom practice, dance rehearsal, nothing. And what may I be doing over the break you might ask? Staying in good ol' AZ. Yes, I know, how boring. But on the contrary, I am planning to get so much done and really take advantage of my time off. Here are all the things I plan on doing (some of which were accomplished today).

1. INSANITY
I am already on my second week and of the second and final month of Insanity. Can't stop now. I see amazing results and while everyone else will be out partyin' it up I'll be cardio-ing it up sweating my little booty off. I can't wait to share with you guys after I am all done.

2. Spray tan at Dolce
I have become obsessed. My friend Kylie got me hooked on these bad boys and let me tell you, once you get one you will be hooked for like too. Like Dolce Salon and Spa on Facebook and you can get amazing "steals and deals" for all the amenities they offer. Last week I bought a Versa spray tan package 4 for $40 (normally $25 each spray tan session). $10 dollars for a spray tan?! You can not beat it. I love them so much. They don't make you orange, and they actually moisturize your skin and since I have completely given up on "fake baking" these work miracles. I will do a full post about these because I could go on and on.

3. Shopping
I went shopping today and honestly I don't think I have gone on a major shopping spree in forever. I found so much stuff for spring/summer I am so excited to wear it. I will do a separate post on that as well.

4. Jeff's baseball games
Jeff has games all week (which is why I am not going out of town) but I am so excited for them and they will do awesome. However, this weekend Jeff had a double header and lets just say, the skin on my back has seen better days. Tube tops- plus- metal bleachers- plus- being in the sun for six hours equals horribly red/purple back. Lets just hope my spray tan/skin doesn't peel.

5. Finish my closet make over
I started and finished my closet make over. I love it. But since I just went shopping, It made me realize that even though I do tend to wear all my clothes in my closet I could reduce and give away some of my "not so favorite" pieces and replace them with even cuter more versatile shirts/shorts/skirts etc. However, this project wasn't an easy task. Therefore, I am determined to organize my entire room so that my neatly revamped closet won't be the only clean area in my room. I have my work cut out for me.

6. Gettin' my hair done
Yay. I am getting my hair done tomorrow, and like always I am so excited. It seems like I always wait until the last possible time to get my hair done. I have been living in messy buns/headbands/my new favorite accessory, hats, for what seems like weeks now. Bye bye dull hair, hello blonde again? I think yes. Lets just say Jeff is a little too excited about this decision. I have researched and found so many cool tips on keeping blonde hair healthy, vibrant, light, and nourished. So having blonde hair this time around shall be different I am determined.

7. Read a book
I already know this one is going to be a struggle. I find myself so ADD lately that I have no idea if I could even sit long enough let alone read an entire book. So lets change this goal to "Start reading a book" eh?

8. Get my online class assignments done before next weekend
I know what your thinking. Homework over spring break?! I know it sucks! And to top it all off I waited until the last minute yesterday and was doing my class all day with the help of my dad (thanks Daddy). I do not need a repeat next weekend. It was a meltdown/disaster.

9. Lake?
Since I am not going anywhere for the break Jeffs team was trying to come up with some fun stuff we could do. We were going to try to go to California next weekend but their tournament in TBD so it would be really last minute if we decided to go but we also thought of the lake. Maybe rent some jet skis and hanging out all day is just what we need. I hope that this one works out!

10. RELAX
Even though I do want to get alot done, I also want to set aside some time to relax. I feel like I am so busy during the normal school/work week that I hardly have time to have free time. This break was much needed indeed.

FEAR THE BEARD

Jeff's baseball team thought of this glorious idea to dye Jeff's beard like Brian Wilson(picture below)and yesterday he built up enough courage to actually go through with it. I honestly think it is hilarious, and since Jeff is pitching sooooo amazingly good (he would never tell anyone that) I think it's the perfect thing to get the team fired up. So in that case.. FEAR THE BEARD.

Spring Training

Today Jeff and I went to the Giants spring training game against the Mariners. It was our first spring training game of the season and Jeff finally got to watch a game instead of having to play in one. It was so much fun!

Blue Jean Buyer

Last week I finally went to this vintage store on Scottsdale road that I have been wanting to go to forever. You can buy and sell vintage items there but the most popular items are their 501 restored Levi jeans. The trick to buying them is to get them a couple sizes bigger then your normal size because of the boy-ish shape. The higher waisted denims are perfect with crop tops and baggy tees and for only $30 bucks that isn't bad! Another fab find were some genuine suede cowboy boots that happened to be in my size for $48. Score! I can't wait to wear these items all spring and summer.

Thoughts And Prayers

Image via LATimes
Keep Cory Hahn an ASU baseball player in your prayers. My boyfriend, some of his teammates, and I attended this double header at ASU 2 weeks ago when this occurred. Here is a brief story about what happened.
"TEMPE, Ariz. -- Arizona State outfielder Cory Hahn has undergone neck surgery after being injured while sliding during a game over the weekend.

Hahn, a freshman, was injured in the bottom of the first inning Sunday against New Mexico when he slid headfirst on a steal attempt and collided with Lobos second baseman Kyle Stiner's knee.

Hahn was taken off the field on a stretcher and to a hospital, where Arizona State officials say he is recovering slowly after undergoing surgery Sunday night.

Hahn, of Corona, Calif., was chosen California's Mr. Baseball after hitting .411 and going 14-1 as a pitcher for Mater Dei High School in 2010."

However, today my boyfriend heard news from our mutual friends that he moved his big toe. The doctors originally said he could be paralyzed from the neck down. So hearing this is amazing. Keep him and his family in your thoughts and prayers.
