Outfit Post: Bohemian Beach Babe

Hi guys! I couldn't wait to show you guys this amazing dress so I just had to post on my vacation. We are having so much! Yesterday we went to the beach, and Stephanie {Jeff's sister} had a beach alert on her phone saying that it was bad surf and the waves were 4-7ft tall. So what do we do? Boogie board of course. It was seriously crazy. I have never had such a hard time just getting out into the water. We were constantly getting pushed back onto shore, and the under-toe was horrible!

But I have a super funny story. Jeff's brother and I caught a wave and {mind you, I had my eyes closed because the waves were so crazy I thought I might go under} when all of a sudden I open my eyes and a huge man was standing in the water ankle deep directly in front of me and I literally plowed into him. He completely fell to the ground. It might have been the funniest thing of all times and I am still hysterically laughing about it now as I type this. He was completely fine but the fact that I knocked down probably a 300+ pound man is just so funny. I felt so bad, but everyone was laughing so I felt better.

Anyways, after that incident we decided to hit up the pool. Last night we drove to Seal Beach to a little taco shop for dinner. It was on such a little quaint street. After leaving I realized that we were driving on Ocean Ave...{that song by Yellowcard may or may not have been on total repeat my whole 7th grade year}.

Can I just tell you guys how obsessed I am with this dress. I mean, the colors, the pattern, the sleeves...I could go on. Snag yourself one from Street Chic. I promise you won't be disappointed. Also I have been trying to wear my St. Germain MAC lipstick more. I always think it is too "Barbie" for what ever I have on, but today I found a cool trick to making it look a little more muted. I put the first two lip sticks from {this} post on then I swipe on some of the St. Germain on top. I love it!

Outfit Post: Simply Summer

Ever since I started writing my blog, I have come to realize just how style {more specifically your own personal style} can effect your attitude, self esteem and over all outlook on your day. Sometimes I wake up wanting to throw on a girly maxi dress, curl my hair and call it a day. Other-times all I want are some cut-offs and a band tee. Well today was one of those days where I didn't really know what I wanted...all I knew, was I wanted to wear my new DIY boyfriend shorts. How could something so simple be so hard to pair with a top. After running errands {in what I thought was a cute tee} I just didn't feel like myself. When I got home I immediately threw on this adorable black tunic from Street Chic, my favorite necklace from Freedom Love Beauty and Agate Mermaid's amazing tote bag. Boom! I was back to my normal boho chic/feminine/grungy self. What I hope you guys take from this little fashion insight is to stick with how you feel when picking out your outfit and you will look {and feel} like a million bucks.

DIY: Twist On The Bohemian Braid

I got so many requests for this hair style I did in my post a couple days ago, so I thought I'd share it with you guys today. It is a twist on my Bohemian Braid tutorial I did a few months ago {here}. The only different is instead of doing inside-out pony tails for each section, I do a fishtail braids. Here is how you do it.
1. Split hair into two sections
 2. Fishtail braid about two inches down, tie off with an elastic.
 3. Fishtail again
 4. Tie off with an elastic and pull hair apart to make the braid fuller.
 5. Repeat
 6. After this section I did one more. How many sections you do is completely optional.
 7. Completed look!

I hope you guys liked this quick tutorial! Now I switch this braid out with my original Bohemian Braid all the time. I love it! Here is what I am wearing// Lemons and Lace headband, necklace Junky Trunk, bracelets: MintGem, Cathryn Ann Designs, Mesa Blue, Michael Kors watch

If you guys try it I would love to see photos on Instagram or via email. Make sure to tag me in them @alyssamayedwards Bye loves! xo!

Outfit Post: Orange Dream

My all time favorite pair of jeans are these bad boys. They are perfectly distressed and perfectly baggy. You really can't go wrong with a vintage pair of Levi's. I paired them with a band tee, Cathryn Ann Designs jewels, ballet flats and vintage Louis Vuitton clutch.

I know I normally do this on Monday's but here are some awesome deals from ShopatHome.com :)

Outfit Post: Pattern Mixing

I was messing around with my hair today and came up with a version of my bohemian braid + fishtail. I originally was just trying to do little sections of my hair with fishtails but it ended up looking a little like the bohemian braid! I love how it turned out. I topped off my hair with an adorable Lemons and Lace headband. I don't know why but I was completely drawn to the blue of my shirt when I looked in my closet today trying to figure out what to wear. Sometimes patterns just work together even if they are completely different.

Do you guys like mixing patterns, or do you feel a little uneasy about it? What are your go-to patterns to mix? I'd love to hear! Comment or email me at sincerelytrulyscrumptious@gmail.com I hope you guys had a great start to your week:) xo

Outfit Post: Weather Change

On Friday Jeff and I went camping up north with our friends Brittney and Jeremy, my aunt, uncle and cousins, and another family. It is crazy how much cooler it is up north even though it is only an hour away from Mesa. It was so beautiful and green! When we got back home yesterday and we brought the rain with us. I just love Arizona monsoon season. Here is what I wore today.

camo pants Target, sweater H&M, bag Pac Sun, flats Forever 21, sunnies Buffalo Exchange, jewelry: Holly Lauren, Mesa Blue, Cathryn Ann Designs, Michael Kors watch

I haven't worn these pants in a while and thought they would be perfect with a bright pink sweater for this rainy day. I stacked my arm party up super high, threw on my fringe bag and I was ready to go. I love mixing silver, rose gold and torquoise. Definitely one of my favorite combos right now:) xo

Outfit Post: Wild Flower

I was so excited when I got this Crown Of Myra flower crown in the mail the other day. I couldn't wait to style it. I took my adorable PB&J sundress and layered a Brandy Melville tank over it and finished off the look with a black fringe vest and trusty booties. Try pairing some of your sundresses with a relaxed graphic tee or tank, knot up the front and you are good to go!
