Pin-Up Face

So I have found the "secret" to the pin up girl look. And I am going to show you how!

1. First apply primer for your foundation. I use Prime Time by Bare Vitamins.
2. Then put foundation on to get a smooth finish. I use Bare Minerals Matte Finish in Medium.

3. Next apply light bronzer and blush to the apples of your cheeks.

4. Then for the eyes apply a eyeshadow primer. I use Soft Ochre from MAC.

5. The next part is important. You want to use light matte brown colors to really make the final product on your eyes pop. I used three colors the all over color is from Bare Minerals called Pebble and the other colors are from a Mary Kay pallet. Just make sure you have a brown, darker brown, and a highlight color. Apply the dark in the crease of your lid and the outer corner. Then the highlight on the inner corner of the eye and brow. MAKE SURE TO BLEND. Use a blending brush to do this.

6. This step is key to making the look. I have always been scared of liquid liner, but don't be! Practice makes perfect! First draw a slanted line upwards and then straight across making a point like corner. Follow the line of the eye lid and come out a little creating the "wing" look. Don't be too dramatic or it will look like "stage" make-up. This will make you have the sleepy eye that makes the pin-up look so popular!

7. Use a black eyeshadow to press into the liner to keep it into place.

8. Then line the lower lid with black eyeliner. I use Smash Box in Midnight.

9. Apply mascara.

10. The trick to making your lips smooth is to dab the Soft Ochre primer on your lips to blend them in with your skin. Then apply a light red lip stain and a slightly tinted gloss.

Yay! That is how you get the perfect pin up look. You can have different variations by using a different color eyeshadows or lip stain.

It's Official

I know I already posted about me getting my job, but I just got the email with my finalized schedule! It's just something about seeing your name in ink (in my case on the computer, you get my drift) that really makes if official! So I'm thrilled! I work Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday teaching hip-hop! All of my schools ended up being hip-hop instead of some pom and cheer but it makes my syllabus easy! Now I can go get some cute hip-hop clothes and other supplies for my classes. I feel so blessed to have gotten this opportunity, now I can have a job I actually like going too:)

Well enough studying for tonight! Zzzz

Fall Frenzy..Literally

Fall is always a busy time of year for me. There are birthdays, assignments, and now, my new job! It seems like my weeks get busier and busier but go by so fast that there needs to be more hours in a day! I have officially marked Tuesdays as one of my least favorite days of the week. However, Tuesdays are when I go out to lunch with my mom and for once don't have anything the rest of the day!. Okay, so Tuesdays may not sound bad but my classes (aka Humanities) have a tendency to dump a load of homework from all four of my teachers directly on my brain. Ahhhhh. So my mom has been asking me what I want to do for my birthday this year(October 9th), and I have no idea. Sushi? Party? Don't worry I'll think of something eventually.

But in the mean time ill focus on studying considering I have a math test and my first humanities test on Thursday.. eek.

Oh p.s. On a lighter note, this song makes me want to dance. Oh wait I do, when I listen to it..shh :)

Ballet Under the Stars

Tonight my family, Jeff and I went allllll the way out to Glendale to watch Ballet Arizona perform their annual community performance called "Ballet Under the Stars (Hence it is outside). It was so much fun and even better, it counted for my Humanities class assignment. Score! Now all I have to do is write an essay about it..Yay. Seeing the performance made me miss performing and better yet these bad boys(fourth picture from the top). I couldn't imagine performing in pointe shoes right now its been about 5 years since I have and I recently put them on for class a couple months ago and lets just say "painful memories" came back. :) Well my old ballet teacher Connie Stine-Ball is teaching a master class at TDA that me and my mom will go to tomorrow and Im really excited! Time to catch some much needed Zzz. I hope everyone has an amazing week!

Remember The Times..

Today was such an amazing day! Four words; I GOT A JOB! Woo! I know, so exciting. I am honestly so blessed to have gotten this opportunity! I get to teach elementary and junior high kids hip-hop and pom and cheer Monday through Friday! It has amazing pay and the company is great! I should be getting my finalized schedule in a couple days:) I hope I got all the schools and days I picked out! After all that good news, Jeff and I chauffeured my brother and part of his group to homecoming. it was so fun, but kind of sad because I realized I'm now too old for that. No more dress shopping and dressing up..maybe I will just do that sometime for fun..shh don't tell :) Jeff's mouth is feeling better slowly but his jaw really hurt today, however we did get to have dinner at Sauce and the mac-n-cheese was a yummy choice for him! Well tomorrow is FINALLY going to be somewhat of a relaxing day. I have been waiting a long time for a day I can actually sleep in. Yay! Tomorrow night my family and I are going to Glendale to go see Ballet Under the Stars. It is a performance by Ballet Arizona and it counts for an essay that is coming up in my Humanities class. Im trying to get ahead and write it before it is due so I don't have to worry about it! (smart, I know) Oh yeah I forgot to tell you guys about Friday night! The cheering went great( even though I forgot some band dances) But it made me really miss pom in a way, but also made me happy that I have moved on. Well I hope that everyone's weekend is going great just like mine!

Fab Finds

So today I went to the ASU art museum and it was amazing. It really opened my eyes up to different cultures and just plain interesting artwork. One of my favorite paintings was just a inch and a half by inch and a half painting of a buterfuly. I loved it! And it was free! And what really just put the cherry on top is the gorgeous hand made ring I found. In love.

Yesterday in my post I mentioned that I thought I had one more thing on my birthday list but couldn't remember. Well I must be the stupidest person in the world. Definitely remembered today. But I guess you could call it more of an item belonging on a long term wish list. It is the chunky gold Michael Kors watch that is to die for. They range from $180-$250. I haven't decided the exact style I want but lets just say the more I look at them the more I am willing to fork out $250 bucks:)

Well i currently here thunder outside my window, which is making me more happy by the second:)

Birthday List

So my birthday is around the corner (October 9th) and I have started to make my birthday list:)
19 days till 19! :)

1. MAC 24 piece brush set
2. Some new bags ( what can I say, I'm obsessed with purses)
3. Side cross necklace (if you have never seen it, you are missing out. It is definitely something I'm in love with)
4. $$$ (who doesn't want money for their b-day?)
5. These two books that I have been wanting. (seen here)

I swear I had one more thing..but I can't think of it right off hand. Well it must not been super important then!

Well I'm off to catch some Zzz!

Past Pieces

So a couple of days ago I found an old "mustard seed" necklace.(The meaning behind that necklace will be at the bottom of the post) I had totally forgotten about where I had put it and was so excited to wear it. It made me remember all of my other old jewelry from my great-grandma, grandma and from my childhood. So when I got home tonight I went on a search, looking through all my old jewelry boxes that I seldom look through. Just to my luck I found so many new (old) things that I'm totally going to wear soon. I found necklaces, pendants, turquoise and diamond rings, bracelets, and tons of decorative pins.

So today Jeff and I took my brothers homecoming group to Fossil Springs and it was so fun! Except for the creepy hippy lady wearing some kind of 80's swimsuit. Oh and she was was a picture hog. Umm ew?

Lake Day!

So today Jeff and I went to the lake with some of our friends and it was sooooo much fun! I don't think I had been to the lake since before senior year! So although I got a little burned, it was totally worth it! Now off to chaperone my brothers homecoming group to Fossil Springs. Time to get some sleep! I hope everyone is having as just as fun as me this busy weekend!:)

TGIF

These two can brighten my day in a heartbeat

Thank goodness its Friday tomorrow! For some reason this week went by really fast for me but was also very difficult. I had so many little assignments that I am ready to just sit at home and do absolutely nothing but lay in bed and blog:) (sounds good right?!) Well this weekend should be fun though! Tomorrow I am sitting in on a Strength and Grow class with my hopefully "soon to be" employer :) yay! I'm definitely excited but tonight I have started to feel sick from my allergies and the last thing I want to do is wake up early. But I am so grateful for this opportunity and pray that I will get the job! It will definitely be a challenge considering it would be the strength and grow classes at the Montessori and private schools and also day cares. It would also be Pom and dance classes at the Multi generational center! But I am so excited about it! So I hope it works out!:) Saturday me and Jeff might possibly be going to the lake with a friend that just came in town! So hoping that works out! Then Sunday Jeff and I are chaperoning my brothers Homecoming group to Fossil Springs. I feel like that place never gets old. There is honestly so many different trails to take and things to see. Well it looks like I have a busy weekend ahead of me, but hopefully I can catch up on some sleep and start feeling better!
