Outfit Post: Halloween Time

Halloween is here! Today I went to the gym, work and now I am going to have dinner with my family {and Millie} at Costa Vida. We didn't want to leave Millie at home when all the tricker-treater's will be stopping by...lets just say poor little girl would bark all night. Here is what I am wearing!

leggings H&M, shirt F21, vest Costco, belt Target, vintage bracelet & necklace, ILY Couture bracelet, Down East Basic cuff, flats F21, sunnies Buffalo Exchange, ring F21

I hope everyone has a fun and safe Halloween:) See you tomorrow!

Outfit Post: Prim & Proper

I have been seeing this number {and letter} trend everywhere. I love how it looks vintage, almost like an old letterman sweater. I paired it with a basic white dress shirt {don't worry, it's from the little boys section at Walmart} and some faux leather shorts.

 sweater F21, leather shorts F21, dress shirt Walmart, Michael Kors watch, ILY Couture bracelets, Down East Basic bracelet, necklace Plato's Closet, bag TJ-Maxx, shoes F21, headband F21, vintage rings, sunnies Buffalo Exchange

My grandma recently sent me a ton of vintage jewelry, these are two of the rings she sent. I pretty much am obsessed with the stone in it. It makes any outfit a little fancier and interesting. I also tried something new with my hair. I will do a tutorial soon on exactly how I did it. I think it's an easy, quick change to the top knot or bun. I hope you all are having a great Tuesday, and my prayers go out to everyone on the east coast!

Monday's With Millie: Fall, Fashion & Fun

Hey guys, Millie here. I can't believe it has already been 5 weeks! I had so much fun hosting my big sis's blog and can't wait to come back and make some guest appearances:) Anyways, with fall arriving in AZ I have been getting a little chilly at nights, especially on my walks. But don't worry, I have two adorable jackets that can keep me warm through all my outside activities.
 {Just got outside with my princess jacket on, thinking of all the fun activities I can do...}
 {Oooo chasing rocks, one of my favorite pastimes...}
 {too bad my sister sucks at throwing...where's my dad?}
 {oh well, I will just dig a hole and hide my rock now}
 {Quick outfit change, ps I often stand in first position like my mommy and sister}
 {look how warm this jacket is...fur around the collar and everything:)}
{Off to go explore the back yard, aka my stomping ground}

I hope you guys enjoyed the final edition of Monday's With Millie, until next time...Bye! Woof Woof!

Millie

Lessons In Layering

Layering has become one of my favorite things to do when planning my outfits, as of late. I love how put together and complex it makes an outfit look. One of my favorite bloggers is Blair from Atlantic Pacific. Lets just say I am completely inspired by her outfits and I think everyone could learn a thing or two from her about the "art" of layering. I have been trying my layer more {seen here, here and here} and I love the look. Since fall is either around the corner {for us Arizonans} or in full swing for everyone else, layering is perfect for fall and winter because you can adjust when the weather is hotter in the day and cooler at night. Here is a look I put together from Target.
The outfit pretty much encompasses all of my favorite things; pattern mixing, stripes, perfect fall boots, skinny jeans and oxblood. Yeah it's awesome. I did some shopping this weekend at Target and Forever 21 and bought some great fall basics including a couple sweaters, collared shirts, leather shorts and an amazing pair of black pants with gold spikes down the legs...yeah I freaked out when I saw them. I hope you guys had a fabulous weekend, I know I did! And shout out to my amazing dad for turning 50 today! I love you so much and your the best lookin' 50 year old I know! Happy birthday daddy:)

Outfit Post: Party Dress+DIY: Twister Costume

Yesterday Jeff and I went to a Halloween party hosted by some of my best friends. I knew I didn't want to spend a lot on a costume and put this little thing together. Super simple and was only $2. Here is how I did it.
 {get felt from the craft store...don't mind Millie cleaning herself}
 {Cut felt out and pin/tape on all white outfit}
{finished product...make your boyfriend wear the spinner}

Tonight I have my dad's surprise 50th birthday party {shh}, Kylie and Jake's second reception and my friend Krissy's 21st birthday extravaganza. Needless to say, this is a perfect party dress.

I wanted to do something different with my hair tonight, so I opted for a girly bow to finish my messy half up half down look. I haven't worn a bow in my hair since my pom and cheer days...good times. Well thats all for now, I have a busy night ahead of me. Happy Saturday!

Outfit Post: Under The Weather+Inspiration

Yesterday was the start of feeling sick, and today is the full fledged sickness. I had school today so it was definitely hard waking up but I tried to make the best of it by using my "Keep Calm and Carry On" mug filled with hot tea and made a yummy pumpkin english muffin sandwich for breakfast. Lets just say it got me through the morning! After school I took two exams online and got ready for date night. Here is what I wore.

pants GAP, flannel shirt Target, chambray jacket Forever21, assorted jewelry: Michael Kors watch, ILY Couture, handmade druzzy necklace, handmade ring, vintage gold bracelet, Pandora bracelet, Brighton bracelet, vintage gold chain necklace, silver necklace Forever21, purse Dooney & Bourke, flats Forever21

Okay this is a little random, but lately I have been seeing a lot of negativity on the Internet, Youtube, Instagram, Facebook etc. with people looking down/bringing people down. Whether it is about someone's weight, dreams, goals, appearance etc. everyone has the right to chase after their dreams and be who they want to be. One of the main reason's that I started this blog is because I love fashion, beauty, crafts etc. and wanted to be able to document it and share it with my friends and family. However, I hope that when young girls and women see my blog, they not only get inspired by my style, but also feel empowered to be who they want to be. Whether it's tall, skinny, heavy, tom boyish or curvy, do not be afraid to feel comfortable in your skin. You don't have to be rich to sport the latest fashion or even have great style. I personally think amazing style isn't about the clothes, it's about how you put them together. Hopefully this little rant may have inspired or lifted some of you up. Don't let anyone discourage you or try to "dull your sparkle"! Be YOU and be PROUD of it.

Alyssa

Outfit Post: Taking It Back

When I was a Sophomore in High School I made this dress in my fashion design class. I totally forgot about it until I found it hiding in my closet the other day. I am loving the layered look these days, so pairing this dress with a chambray shirt is the perfect combo for fall. Since it is still a little warm here in AZ I opted for bare legs, but when it gets cooler out, a great pair of lace stockings or oxblood tights would look great with it.

 dress handmade, chambray top Target, boots Sheikh, vintage Dooney & Bourke, Michael Kors watch, ILY Couture bracelet, F21 pearls, vintage pearl necklace, Francesca's gold necklace

I started getting sick last night, but luckily I didn't have school today so I got to sleep in a little. Jeff picked me up and we went to lunch at Sprouts and then I had work for a couple hours. After work, I stopped by Sally's and picked up a couple gel polishes {I will share with you guys tomorrow}. Now I am ending the night with dinner at home and my online classes. It's nice to just be at home sometimes! Happy hump day!

Outfit Post: Party At Gatsby's

So I saw a picture a couple weeks ago of this sweatshirt on Pinterest. It was love at first sight. The Great Gatsby, over the years, has become one of my favorite books {and movies}. When I saw this sweatshirt I was obsessed. {Plus it was only $23} And with the new movie coming out this fall, why not celebrate with this?!

peplum skirt TJ-Maxx, sweatshirt here, shoes Sheikh, bag TJ-Maxx, ILY Couture bracelets, pearl bracelets F21, shirt underneath Love Culture, sunnies Buffalo Exchange, Michael Kors watch, belt Goodwill

I have exciting news to tell you! I finished my 5k running program and now I am on day 2 of my 10k program. In another 8 weeks I will be able to run 6.2 miles. Woo! Anyways, tonight I am going to a fall ball game with Jeff and his family. I'm super excited because I haven't watched a baseball game in forever! I hope all of you are having a great Tuesday:)
