How Alyssa May Wilson got started//
Ever since I started blogging years ago, I told myself if I ever got tired of it, uninspired or overwhelmed I would stop. I also have grown so much as a person since the start of this blog. I felt like it was the perfect time to rebrand + create a new space for all my passions to live. Not going to lie, it was probably 1 o'clock in the morning when I couldn't sleep + decided to purchase my new alyssamaywilson.com domain name. haha! At least I'm productive when my insomnia sets in :) I had a vision of what I wanted my new site to look like + everything is slowly but surly coming together. I have always been up for a challenge + creating this new site was definitely a huge obstacle to overcome. I feel so ready to start getting more personal + contiue sharing all the things I love + care about.
What to expect on Alyssa May Wilson//
I want to be as consistent + REAL as possible + talk about everything from fashion to DIYS, recipes, married life, date night + home decor. I want to create a community for women to feel inspired + loved. I'm staying true to myself + will continue being 100% me. :) As of right now you can expect posts to go up on Tuesdays + Thursdays. I hope you all are just as excited about this as I am!
When will the site be ready?//
I am working super hard getting everything perfect so until now you will see the coming soon landing page until I officially open it up to the public. Ahhh I can't wait to show you how pretty it looks. I'm so proud. And don't worry - everything Sincerely Truly Scrumptious is transfered over so all of my previous content will be there. When alyssamaywilson.com goes live you will be forwarded to the new site if you try coming here. I will also post on my IG @alyssamaywilson to announce the launch.
Until then I am so excited to let you all in on the secret I've been keeping. I can't wait for you all to contiue on this journey with me. I cannot thank you all enough for all the love + support! xo

Annual Tea With My Mom//

Every year since I can remember my mom + I have gone to tea around the holidays. It is our special tradition. Lately we have been going to the Phoenician for tea + we just love it. Everyone is so nice there + we love spending time together. If you have never been to tea before I'll explain a little about it.

First, you pick the tea you want. They have a huge selection of teas to choose from. Herbal, black + green teas. Then comes the first course, finger sandwiches. The sandwiches include - English cucumber, hickory smoked salmon, classic egg salad, Phoenician's lemon + thyme chicken salad + crisp asparagus + garlic herb mousse. The little sandwiches are so delicious + luckily for us they bring out seconds :) Up next are the scones. They had a buttermilk scone + cranberry. Both were so yummy. The scones are accompanied with devonshire cream, lemon curd + fresh strawberry preserves. I could eat all three of those toppings plain with a spoon :) haha! I'm so lady like! Lastly, are the desserts. So many tasty little treats + they are all so unique. I love the presentation.

Tea is my favorite tradition + I love spending time with my mom. After tea this year we looked around the resort then drove around looking at houses in the prettiest neighborhoods. We always have the best time! I love her!

Anyways, if you have never been to tea before get your mom or best girlfriends + go! Its so fun to chat + be lady like for the day :)

Outfit Post// Mustard

You guys...one of my favorite colors as of late is mustard. I love the richness of it + the pop of color it can add to any basic outfit. I feel like it looks good not only on blondes but brunettes as well which makes it super versatile. I have also been loving boyfriend jeans. I finally have a few pairs I have been rotating that I feel fit super well + are comfortable too. Any big booty girls out there that have a hard time finding jeans like me?! The waist is always too big and the legs/booty is skin tight. I hate that! I have found that Levis fit AMAZING + the "mom jean" cut is perfect. I also love the button fly - so vintage!

PS - isn't this yarn tassel the cutest thing ever?! I found it when I was leaving Lizard Thicket a few weeks ago + I can't get enough. It adds just the right amount of boho to my LV. Best of both worlds :) I have always had a mix of styles. I love the classic clean look of skinny jeans and a leather jacket, or a feminine floral dress, or a boho flower crown. So when it comes to describing my style in one word it just doesn't always work. But I feel like mixing + matching + wearing whatever you want is all that matters. Who needs to define their specific style!? Wear what you love!

Outfit Post// Sibyl Lane

I'm pretty laid back when it comes to wearing "normal clothes". For anyone that is new here + doesn't know, I work at lululemon. SO basically I get to wear leggings + comfy clothes all day long. It's amazing. So with that being said - when I actually get ready I love wearing effortlessly cute pieces. This top from Sibyl Lane is just that. I love the embroidery detail + the cinched in bell sleeves. Pair it with some skinnies + booties and you are good to go. Check out their site {here} they are having a huge sale + be sure to use my code ALYSSA10

Outfit Post// Almost Spring

AZ has been feeling more and more like Spring except for last weekend {I was freezing!}. I wanted to share two fun Spring time looks with you from Lizard Thicket. A tip that I shared on my Instagram - I love to prolong the life of my winter accessories. In order to do that I will pair my leather over the knee boots with some of my Spring dresses for a fun boho look. I love doing this at night because it is still a little chilly and I love the look of a flirty short dress with over the knee boots. Its super flattering + looks cute alone or with a chunky cardigan or denim jacket paired on top. What are some of your tricks for transitioning Winter pieces into Spring?
 outfit 1// dress $39.99
outfit 2// dress $39.99, bag $46.50

If you are local be sure to check out Lizard Thicket at Dana Park. You will be hooked!

I have a little secret I've been keeping about my blog - stay tuned it may be in for a little makeover in 2018 :) More to come!

Alyssa

DIY// Peppermint Sugar Scrub

Merry Christmas loves! Today I want to share a little DIY I made for all my friends, family + coworkers. I wanted to incorporate my love for Young Living essential oils all while making something versatile {that everyone would like} + festive! It is so stinkin' easy guys. Here is the recipe below:
The only other ingredients you need are:
  • mason jars - I found the best ones at Walmart - get the small size
  • string - I found mine at Hobby Lobby - I'm sure you could order on Amazon too
  • candy canes
  • evergreen sprigs - I bought some clippings from Sprouts + cut my own

I found this idea off Pinterest + the printable for the mason jars {here}

If you guys have any questions I'd love to hear from you! Follow me on my IG @alyssamaywilson as well as my essential oil IG @alyssamayessentials Merry Christmas + thank you for all the continued love and support. xo
